Phase III - Exercising the Gift and Skill of a Spiritual Director (April 2009 - February 2010)

The Spiritual Direction Training Program Phase III is a one-year training program which aims at equipping trainees with prayer posture, techniques and skills in becoming spiritual directors. The program emphasizes knowing God and oneself in a deeper way through prayer and a contemplative approach. The training has five components: (1) receiving spiritual direction from a spiritual director, (2) readings, (3) reflection / prayer exercises, (4) a one-day workshop, and (5) giving spiritual direction sessions under supervision. Our ultimate aim is to prepare a group of qualified, mature spiritual directors who are ready to serve the FECA community through the ministry of spiritual direction.
